Designing Your New Swimming Pool

Every swimming pool we install begins with a dream. Your dream is limited only by your imagination, lifestyle, and property size. A new pool can be a haven for children to play volleyball or water tag games, a private oasis to sit by a waterfall or soak in a spa, a personal training site for an Olympic swimmer or for water aerobics, or the perfect place to entertain friends and family. Our design consultants can create an unlimited variety of pool designs to meet your lifestyle and fulfill your dreams.

Step One - Site Evaluation
For the Existing Home: Think about the entire yard and the type of pool that you want to build. While most often the swimming pool becomes the center of attention, it’s important to think about the picnic areas, the barbecue, the pool house, and landscaping you may want to add or maintain. Another important consideration is the location of your existing landscaping and topography, plumbing, electrical, cable and phone lines, and septic systems. Our design consultants can help you decide on the location and shape of your new pool and provide advice with regard to conditions specific to your yard and home structures.

New Home Construction: There are many significant benefits to building your pool or spa during the construction of your new home. You will completely avoid the inconvenience and noise of heavy construction in your yard after you have moved in. During the home construction process, there is easier access to the yard, which will eliminate the cost of repairs to landscaping, and there is no need to remove and replace fences or walls. Also, you will be better able to integrate the pool design and all the other backyard features with your home design. Best of all, you can add the pool to the first mortgage and lower your finance costs. An Anthony & Sylvan design consultant can work with your homebuilder to add the backyard of your dreams to the house of your dreams.

Step Two – Envision Your Pool or Spa
While you’re planning, consider the type of swimming pool and/or spa you want to build. Is it to be a play pool, one with a constant depth or one with varying depths with enough area for you and your family to enjoy pool games such as volleyball or basketball? Will it be used for exercising and aquatherapy, diving, or mainly for entertaining friends and family around a beautiful landscape element with a spa or waterfall? There are many things to contemplate as well when deciding on the shape and depth of your new pool. Be sure to request a copy of our free color brochure, which will present you with all the beautiful possibilities for your backyard dream.
